Dominion have just taken latest
technology to one of the country's oldest companies by updating
the website of The Salters'
Company, one of the Twelve Great City Livery Companies
dating back to the fourteenth century.
The Salters' Company was originally charged with regulating
the salt trade, including that at Maldon, Essex, receiving
its first royal licence from King Richard II in 1394. Some
members, known as 'Dry Salters' also dealt in such items
as flax, hemp and chemical preparations.
Today the Salters' Institute plays a key role in developing
the chemists of the future, by supporting chemistry teaching
and encouraging young people to further their studies and
careers in this field.
Dominion enjoyed the challenge of adding a touch of technology
to a company that has been trading for over six hundred
years. "Our aim has been to enhance one of the City's
most prestigious names with a website that educates and
excites people. We want to show how IT can transform words
and images on a screen, with dynamic results," says
Dominion's Managing Director, Paul Lasky.
